#14 - Death Cab for Cutie - TIE - Plans (2005) / Transatlanticism (2003)

Another tie here. It's hard for me to say one of these albums is better than the other. They sound more like a double album to me, Plans being an extension of Trans. That's not a bad thing. Ben Gibbard writes the most heart wrenching songs since Robert Smith. Thank God I'm happily married, because these are breakup songs that cut deep. Only the newness of these albums keep them out of my top 10. I think eventually both albums will be among my very favorite. I can already rank DCFC as one of my top 5 favorite bands of alltime. That's serious business for a music junky like me! Great band that never disappoints.
Key Tracks (Plans): Soul Meets Body, Summer Skin, I Will Follow You Into the Dark, Crooked Teeth, What Sarah Said
Key Tracks (Transatlanticism): Title and Registration, The Sound of Settling, We Looked Like Giants

Performing "Title and Registration" live on Austin City Limits:

Yeah! That's gonna be awesome. I'm looking forward to this more than any show I've seen since my first Cure concert.
